Symptom

When reversing an Excel file into an Excel Metadata, the error "Children List Error" is raised.

 

Solution

This error can occurs when trying to reverse, read or write a ".xls" file.

Stambia's Excel Metadata and driver work with Microsoft Excel's ".xlsx" files, which is not the same file format as ".xls".

 

The solution is to convert the XLS file into a XLSX file (for example "Save as" in from Microsoft Excel, or try one of the numerous utilities available on the web). And then, reverse the XLSX file.
